This is a friendly informal event where you (and your family, friends and/or carers) will have the opportunity to hear about research taking place at Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, ask the researcher questions, and provide input that could shape the future of eye care research.
Details of our next coffee hour event are as follows:
Date: Wednesday 13th May 2026
Time: 3-4pm
Location: Coffee Junction, 42 Provost Street, London N1 7SU, (a 5-minute walk from Moorfields Eye Hospital)
Presenting at our next Coffee Hour will be Prof Glen Jeffery. Glen is a Professor of Neuroscience at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology whose research explores how different types of light affect our health. While we can only see a small part of sunlight, our bodies also respond to invisible light such as ultraviolet and infrared, which play important roles in processes like energy production and ageing. Glen will discuss how modern lifestyles and indoor LED lighting may limit our exposure to these beneficial types of light and how restoring them could help improve health and support healthy ageing.
We will also be providing a free coffee and pastry for you to enjoy! So come along and let’s have a chat about research into eye care that is important to you.
