Prof Andrew J. Lotery, MD, FRCOpth last year’s recipient, presented the award. Our BRC also supports his research at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. Her lecture explored ‘Evidence generation in intermediate age-related macular degeneration’ exploring the process of data collection for mid-stage AMD.

Prof Sivaprasad is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Honorary Professor of Retinal Clinical Studies at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. Her research has significantly impacted eye care globally, contributing to numerous international and UK-wide studies on macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She has been involved in over 50 clinical trials, often as the chief investigator, and has authored more than 500 peer-reviewed publications.
The Macula Society was founded in 1977 to provide a forum for the presentation and dissemination of the most current and most advanced scientific information and research in retinal vascular and macular diseases.
